hey despin, i think that putting somthing close to the lens as you track toward the wall is a good idea then, as you say, do the rest in post, i think that it could work best... cinema 4d the package that i use to try out cinematic effects, i dunno if you have a copy but it is very simple to use...
by the way keeping tracking speed regular is all down to the grip and the speed he/she walks at - you need to get a beat in your head and stick to it for all the traking shots... hope this kinda helps

Hey there.
I was think of something along the lines a step a second or something along those lines to keep the same rythem.
Lightwave and 3d studio max are my weapons of choice at the moment. 3d Studio being my main tool.
